Everyday Apps

Grab, food delivery, translation, navigation, and other daily-driver apps that actually matter. These are the ones that stay on my home screen.

Transportation

Grab — The Uber of Southeast Asia. Works for cars, motorbikes, and food delivery. Essential for getting around when you're not near the BTS/MRT.

Bolt — Often cheaper than Grab, especially for longer trips. Worth having as a backup.

Google Maps — Still the best for navigation and finding places. Public transit directions are accurate for Bangkok.

Food Delivery

Grab Food — Widest restaurant selection. Reliable but sometimes pricier.

Foodpanda — Good promos and deals. Interface is decent.

LINE MAN — Local favorite with good coverage. Also does errands and messenger services.

Robinhood — Thai-owned, no commission from restaurants, so sometimes cheaper. Worth checking.

Communication & Translation

LINE — Thailand's WhatsApp. Everyone uses it. You'll need it for businesses, landlords, and making local friends.

Google Translate — Camera mode is a lifesaver for menus and signs. Thai-English translation is decent but not perfect.

Shopping & Services

Lazada / Shopee — Amazon equivalents. Great for everything from electronics to household items. Fast delivery in Bangkok.

7-Eleven app — Bill payments, top-ups, and sometimes useful promotions. Yes, 7-Eleven is a way of life here.
